⁶ This is also why you pay taxes. For rulers^[a] are God’s servants faithfully devoting themselves to their work.^{[b] 7} Pay everyone whatever you owe them—taxes to whom taxes are due, tolls to whom tolls are due, fear^[c] to whom fear^[d] is due, honor to whom honor is due.

Love One Another

⁸ Do not owe anyone anything—except to love one another. For the one who loves another has fulfilled the Law.
